The Article from The Saturday examiner

Todays blog is inspired by idiots that are allowed to legally drive a car, but lets not forget the idiots that also decide to drive with out a license. The thought for todays blog came to me on the drive home from work last night, I was going around the round-a-bout just off the highway, looked in my rear-view mirror and what do I see? A white car with its headlights on high beam right up my ass. At first I speed up to get more of a distance between me and the other car, but then my mind clicked and I slowed down.

Why did I slow down when this car was going right up my ass? Well for one, if he ran into me, it would be his problem. Two, I know just how much it would have pissed the other driver off, so in a 60 zone I slowed down to 40 and the idiot just didn’t get the message as he decided to continually stay up my ass for a few more minutes until he slowed backed off. Maybe that wasn’t the right thing to do, but it made me happy so I dont really give a shit.

You may be sitting there thinking, well thats all well and good but why the friggin hell are you blogging about it?

OOH so your questioning my reasons to blog now Huh!? Well STUFF YOU!

In the Saturdays Examiner (Local Newspaper in Launceston) there was a two page spread about Drink driving / Dangerous driving. Due to the fact that this year the Tasmanian Road’s Death Toll is way up on previous years. What I would like to show you all though is some of the Excuses that Tasmanian police have been hearing from those caught Drink Driving, Talking on the Phone, Speeding and a few other bad things.

Drink-Driver

“You have cost me my job, my house, my livelihood, and my son’s 21st birthday.”

This driver obviously knew the risk he was taking, so why blame others for him doing the wrong thing.

Drink-Driver

“I thought I would’ve been right…. I only had eight beers”

Yes because that isn’t much at all when the legal driving limit is 0.05 … hmm

Drink-Driver

Driver was asked when he started drinking “I started 30 years ago and I haven’t stopped since”

A common thing I’m seeing here is that the drink drivers know they are in the wrong but they have decided to do it anyway.

Speeding

“I’m speeding because my little boy spat cordial on the cruise control button and it got stuck”

Anyone else want to call bullshit on this smart mouthed bitch?

Talking on Mobile

“You have just ruined my chances of adopting a Taiwanese child. It may just be a minor matter here, but over in Taiwan, it’ll be viewed as a crime!”

And Talking on your phone while driving is a crime here so shut the fuck up

Failing to Carry License

“I’ve just done a funeral and my license is in the hearse”

Okay so now that comment is just funny.

Driving through a Red Light

“I didn’t see the red light because I was talking on my Phone wasn’t I?”

Another case of smart mouthed people. Police should just taser them.

Failing to Dip Lights

“I work for child services and, as part of my job I have to locate missing children at night… so I need good lighting!”

Okay so that comment is funny as well but also full of people being a smart ass.

I don’t know why, but do some of these people think that if they come up with some creative reason the cop’s will just let them off? Or laugh the matter aside. “Oh really, no thats fine, go right ahead, be careful of the corner up there its a bit windy so don’t go to fast”

How ever I will admit that I myself have back chatted a copper once, it was new years eve a couple of years ago and I was driving home from work, and came across a random breath testing station, when I stopped the police officer came up to my window and goes. “Have you had anything to drink tonight?” I’m sitting there in my work uniform and with out thinking I just go. “Yeah… because I always down a carton at work” Probably not the best thing to say, the police officer just stared at me then tested me, I was fine and they sent me on my merry way.

So yeah, the road is full of idiots, and maybe while we all think we aren’t like them. We probably are in a small way, wether its bad driving or snaky remarks.

Today was interesting for me, I pretty much started the day by posting my old Telstra ZTE F256 Flip Phone to a Matt in Melbourne. I sent it by express.. I just hope it gets there in one piece… (Okay Daniel move onto something interesting) After which I called Kyle while driving around (BAD DANIEL! GO TO THE CORNER) which resulted in us having Lunch at Charcoal Chicken and something triggered us to talk about Eckleston Road. A piece of formerly gravel road that was kind of bad luck to Me and Yolanda with in a 24 Hr Time frame.

Let me rewind a year or more for you. This one night, me, Courtney and Kyle were driving around where ever the road took us and we ended up on said road. I was driving, everything was going good but then this corner jumped out of no where, my breaks locked up and we almost kissed a rather large tree. Luckily we didn’t Crisis Averted. The next day myself, Yolanda and Kyle headed back to said road to see where I had almost crashed, and then roughly 100 Meters up from the tree I almost became quick friends with, Yolanda lost control of her car over a corner and over corrected and send the car fish-tailing into a fence. Boy that was fun, what more is that I happened to be filming at that same stage. Here is the footage from the back seat.

Note: Although I do say repeatedly that she should try and do something stupid. The ‘accident’ was in no way planed.

Okay that’s enough of a walk down memory lane. Now onto the new stuff!

I dropped Kyle off at the hairdressers as he had an appointment. It took an hour for him to have his hair cut and re-coloured… such a girl! We then headed into EBGames after much thought over the past few weeks and we both purchased copies of World of Warcraft… the WoW, you know… Internet gaming phenomenon of the past two years or so, when the game originally came out we kind of boycotted it, not seeing how you could justify paying $100 at the time for the game and then a monthly fee of like $20 just to play it. Although now we both have jobs and junk so we got it.

We took our laptops and intended to play it most of the afternoon… but NOOO WoW needs to install updates… actually it needs about 6 or more patches installed. Starting with 264 MB worth which we thought was bad enough… a few hours and patches later Im installing a 2.6 GIGABYTE Patch… seriously that’s insane, just ship a new DVD!

AHH that has me so angry right now and as I write this blog I have 553 MB of it downloaded and roughly 5 Hours to go… how insane is that I swear!

I have a feeling I could be talking about WoW more often in my blogs now so I’m going to do something for people that don’t have an interest in WoW. In non WoW blogs there will be the usual title, butt for Blogs about WoW experiences and stuff I will insert a tag at the start of the Blog title such as [WoW]

So for example a blog title could say [WoW] Its Monday 13^th Friday

Get it? If not I pitty you. Well this blog seems to have ranted on for long enough now… 3 Pages in Microsoft Word. Time to post it!
