The Sketchbook Project

The Sketchbook Project is something that I came across from an old work colleagues Facebook link. I wasn’t sure exactly what it was at first so I decided to have a look and find out what it was all about and really, I think it’s a fantastic idea but whether or not I will participate in it is another thing all together! Basically, The Sketchbook Project is a world tour of Sketchbooks. But where do the sketchbooks come from? Well that’s the fantastic thing about it. The Sketchbooks come from people around the world who want to participate, there is no judging or voting. Participants simply pay a $25 entry fee, receive a standardized sketchbook and have until the 31st of January to send it back. At which stage it’s entered into the collection and goes on world tour. You don’t get anything out of it other than knowing that people all around the world are going to get the chance to look at YOUR work. Which is something I find pretty fascinating and also a little overwhelming and is probably the reason I haven’t just hit the ‘Sign me up!’ button just yet. Although if I was to and had to choose one of their themes. I’d either go for Time Traveler or 10 Minutes.

Okay so this is a bit of a weak blog. But I just wanted to share it all with you. If you like the idea, click the image above and check out all the details! Leave a comment if you are going to sign up!
