New aint always improved.

23 Sep

1211084118_lWith technology constantly changing, and people always wanting more and more, faster and faster. It’s weird to think just how much of an attraction something old can have. You all know me, I’m always buying Gadgets and stuff that I don’t need. But Just like in my other blog post, you can own one of the most expensive high techy things, but still be happy just to use something that isn’t even in the same ballpark, but has the same basic result.

Caves, Maze and Cliff

20 Sep

IMG_0119So today Caroline, Yolanda, Kyle and I went for a day trip. The trip ended up taking us for a rather interesting day, taking us to the Westbury Maze where the girls beat the boys to the centre and to the exit. My sense of direction is really bad, so never follow me into a maze! It was quite fun, apart from when I tripped over and fell into a Hedge! Actually I ran into quite a few trees on our day trip. After this we decided we would head out to Mole Creek and check out the caves.

We went on a cave tour with about 5 other people, apart from one lady showing her parents around, we were the only group of Tasmanians, it was fun. Especially the part when we first got into the cave and Caroline and I were standing against the wall when the Tour Guide decided to point out a rather ugly spider that was right behind us, following on to tell us they could grow to the size of Dinner Plates. Yeah we moved pretty fast. Only to end up standing under a Stalactite to have a person from Sydney point out a Cave Cricket right above my head, causing me and Caroline to Jump once again, with Caroline squealing and almost knocking me over.

The Cave tour was good, and when we got to the top part called the Cathedral, the tour guide asked us to sing. No one did, which was good because the only song that was in my head was the Im A Korean Parody of the Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling. SO I didn’t really want to start singing that. Although the tune was stuck in my head all the way back. On the subject of musical Tunes, I noticed Kyle randomly leading Caroline and Yolanda in song with Im A Korean, I gotta Feeling and best of all, Friends for Ever.

After the cave trip we headed back to Launceston, only to stop at the Allum Cliffs and walk once again up and down and look at more rocks. All in all it was a good day, But I am stuffed. Here are some pictures taken on my iPhone.

Spring Sprung

14 Sep

So right now, as I sit here and write this blog, I am outside, sitting on one of the chairs from the small outdoor table that my mum got for Christmas last year. With my legs stretched out onto another one of the chairs and my laptop propped up on… yep you guessed it, my lap. Sitting outside in the sun with some music playing, wearing a had and sunglasses. It’s really relaxing, listening to the cliché sounds of wind blowing through the leaves of the trees and plans. The dog rolling around on the pavement in the sun, or attacking a random flying by insect.

If your looking for a reason behind this blog post. Well I just wanted to say that I am glad that winter is over and that we are finally going back into some good weather. After countless weekends of continuous rain, the clouds and wetness get a little old and the feel of the warm sun hitting your skin with a soft gentle occasional breeze just makes for a nice relaxing day.

Something in my head just clicked, and it reminded me to when I first learnt of laptops. I remember as soon as I heard what they were, I wanted one, and this was only in 4th or 5th grade or something along those lines. But back then something made me think they were called LABtops, I don’t know why, but I just thought I would share that with you.

What else? Uhm an observation of my Macbook Pro after the upgrade to Snow Leopard the new OS X, the Laptop seems to be running a bit warmer than it used to, just watching a few videos on Youtube and the Macbook seems to warm up, but right now outside the CPU is sitting at 44 degrees apposed to a high of 78 degrees when watching the First Episode of Season 5 Supernatural.

That’s all for today Folks J

Testing 123

18 Aug

So I’m back on my Windows machine now, For a while it kind of sat on the side lines after several Crashes and over the past 4 Months I have used my Macbook Pro. At the start of the year when I first decided to buy a Macbook, I simply wanted it because of the look and the fact that I wanted a new Macbook and I hadn’t had any experience with the Mac OS X operating system so I thought, he why not give it a go. I used it and I loved it, although only being a 13” I hardly considered it a replacement for my Desktop PC, Which I built myself just a little under a year ago now.

But then, you would all remember that I spilt a drink all over my Macbook 13” and everything pointed to it being dead, I gave it a week or two and it still didn’t work. After that I decided that considering how much I preferred the Mac OS X operating system over Windows Vista and XP i thought, hey why not get the Macbook Pro 15”. Sure it was expensive, a lot of $$ and this year I have definitely spent the most money on Computers ever! BUT, i will say this, it was definitely money well spent. Everything just works, you don’t have to spend hours finding out how to get something to work right on it, because everything is made work from the start.
