Light Art

Posted by on January 22, 2010

So Light Photography has been an area of interest for me lately, mainly because it takes more work than point and shoot photography. After seeing the works of Alan Jaras which I blogged about the other day, I went out with Anna Relle and picked up some glow sticks to experiment with the light photography some more. Here are my results below. Check out Anna’s Here

Wow, did you manually set the ISO? Was it really high?
I love the layers and layers of light in #6, and the awesome soft textures – Impressive! I think you must have worked further away from the camera than I did, to get that impression of space. The circle in #11 is pretty damn perfect… did you use string? Lol, interesting how different they turned out from mine, which were basically the same props!

I put the camera into Manual mode and set everything to some settings that I found online, although I will admit that I adjusted most of these images in photoshop, simply by increasing the exposure, it was weird to see how much the camera caught that didn’t show up. So by increasing the exposure I was able to bring out more light and colour.

The camera was set up on one side of my bed and I stood on the other side. No string involved.

I love five! probably because of the colour, it’s incredible. Also it sorta looks like an abstract chicken.

A couple of the last few reminds me of wormholes. Hee, very stargate-y/farscape. Also a couple (like #11) reminded me of the rings around a planet. very cool.
