Light Photography

So a few posts back, I experimented with Light photography, using a toy lightsaber, a torch and my iPhone. I enjoyed playing around with the settings and finding out what my camera can do, and what I can produce with out actually using photoshop, that I have been researching it more and more, but now what’s holding me back is putting it into practice, yesterday I went to chickenfeed in the search of glow sticks and candles but when I got there, I got distracted by the Video Ezy DVD sale and some how ended up buying batteries for my remote control car…

Which means no light photography of my own today, although you can check mine out here. Instead while googling for more tips, tricks and recommended settings I found the work of Alan Jaras a British Artist whose soul subject is light. He makes his pieces by passing light through transparent objects like stained glass windows and the like, but he uses a 35mm film camera with out a lens and physical colour filters. Meaning that he does all his editing before he even see’s the final product, no Photoshop touch up work involved, and truthfully some of his pieces are amazing! The ones through out this post are just some of my favourites!
