So once again, this is a blog post that is useless if you follow my Twitter… what’s that, you don’t have a Twitter? Well then you better fix that and go get yourself an account and start following my 140 character updates @DigDan….
Wait what was this post about? Oh yeah that’s right! So I kind of made an impulse buy the other day, although this is one of my more expensive impulse buys at $400+ with a Nintendo Wii, I was walking around Kmart, with an itch to spend money… I swear if I didn’t have a job I’d be sooo itchy… Hmm that doesn’t sound good. But anyway, when ever I don’t buy something after a while… or if I get really bored, I tend to think that spending money will fix it all. Don’t judge me! I’m supporting the economy.
As I wondered aimlessly around Kmart I stumbled into the entertainment / tech section… like I always do, and I thought… hmm Wii… then I thought a bit more as I walked around, then I just headed up to the counter and said… Hey, can I buy a Wii please. The lady looked at me and started saying how “The deal doesn’t start till tomorrow” I just looked at her with a blank face. “What Deal…?” “The $388 or what ever, with games and stuff.. It’s in the Catalogue” I just looked at her a bit confused then realised she assumed I had seen the Catalogue that should have been delivered that morning and I was in a day early.
I nodded my head and said. “Okay… thanks” and walked away, thinking that if I feel like it I may come back the next morning before work and grab one if I can be bothered… But a few hours later… well about 8 hours later, Midnight rolled past… oh yeah. Kmart is 24/7 pretty much the ONLY place that is other than the odd Petrol Station. Not even a supermarket… weird right? (Heads back on topic) I looked at the time, it was my Rostered Day Off and usually I’m working till midnight anyway so out of no where I jumped in my car and headed off to Kmart, next thing I knew I was home 20 minutes later with a Wii and a bunch of games…
And that my friends is the beating around the bush story of How I got my Wii…. Now really, I’m not much of a gamer type. A few years ago I got the first Xbox 360 that came out (It doesn’t even have HDMI) and now I rarely play it, if I buy a game for it, the novelty lasts a week at the most before it just ends up on my shelf. But the Wii isn’t so much about better than life graphics, or intense action games, as everyone knows the style is much more comical and relaxed, with the game requiring more motion rather than mad button pressing skills. So the Wii is currently out in the living room on the Plasma TV being used by who ever really wants to… because, be honest. The main enjoyment behind the Wii comes from standing around with a couple of people and swinging your arms like rabid monkeys at a television screen, being represented by a Mii and either hitting a tennis ball back and forwards or bowling a ball down the lane and trying to get a strike.
Originally I hated Wii’s because I might have been a bit arrogant about gaming consoles believing that the graphics were everything, but I have converted. Now I just have to not impulse buy a PS3

lol! you and your impulsive buys. But yeah, the wii is great with people around. Though to be honest, there’s a Wii in my house… and I just never use it. Thee’s a bunch of games, but I dunno it’s not really my kinda thing, I love the stories/characters to games. and Many games (like resort) don’t have that. I’ve wasted so many hours on Halo and its series. liek too many to count.
But anyway, the wii is stil very cool. We’ll have to vs each other some time.
