IMG_0101I just have to say that last weekend was probably the BEST weekend I have had in a while. Me, Anna and Claire caught up for a fun little photo shoot and you can see the results of that in the previous two blog entries. We’ve also been talking about doing a little arty project in a fortnight so that should be fun :-)

But on Sunday, the day that I planed to bum around the house and do nothing, well it didn’t turn out like that, waking up to a text message from Yolanda and in a couple of hours time, Yolanda, Kyle and I found ourselves driving through the gravely back roads of Evandale towards Ben Lomond, the second highest mountain in Tasmania, and  the closest one to where we live. A short trip up the mountain we found ourselves getting a National Park pass and not to long later we found the SNOW! It’s been winter for ages and technically we are now in spring, but I can now say that I have seen Snow this year and it was fun.

I don’t have any pictures at the moment to share, mainly because Yolanda’s camera was the only one we had. The two here in this post are from my iPhone.

When we got up there we all realised that we were un-prepaired for a trip to the snow. With myself wearing Jeans, a T-shirt and thin cotton Jacket, thankfully I was wearing Hiking boots :-) Yolanda was wearing thin trackpants and ballet style shoe slipper thing’s but she was lucky enough to have several jumpers at her disposal. Kyle had sand shoes, jeans and a $200 Kathmandoo Jacket which is basically like a sleeping bag made into a jacket so he could have been the best prepared for it all.

As we wondered through the snow we were all treading carefully as none of us were used to the feel of snow under our feet, Yolanda went sliding a few times. After renting a toboggan, we walked up the hill and thats when we became cold! At the top I fell up to my arse in snow. BOOF! my legs disappeared into the snow, it was cold but funny. We were all useless at the Toboggan and it took us a while to figure out how to sit on it. Although we fell off several times. It was great though and hopefully if it’s still snowing up there in a fortnight we can go back and have some ski-ing lessons! IMG_0102

I think that is all, hopefully I can get a hold of the photos from Yolanda and post them up eventually! Tomorrow I’m going to get my eyes tested to see if I need glasses *hope I dont*

Catch you all later!

It was a great day, I must say I loved it. Shame we don’t have Yolanda’s camera because she seems to have a lot of good pictures, I’d love to steal

Sadly the rain has apparently washed away all the snow :-(
