Has anyone noticed that iRelle has posted TWO, yes TWO Blog posts consecutively about technology! Which for long time readers will know is something that I am more likely to do, as our Blogging styles are pretty different, iRelle is very personal, touchy-feely with her blog posts where as I will rant on about un-interesting things such as tv shows, something that’s pissed me off or how some cloud in the sky looked at me the wrong way (Oh and the countless challenges)
But in the past two days iRelle has been technologised, maybe this has something to do with it being International Technology Week? But you should definitely go and check out her two blog posts, Technology: 2059 in which she wonders about technology and what it will be like 50 years from now when we are 71, and CPU vs Relle: Showdown where she lists her most used applications and what her non technological equivalence is for them. But here is a question, will we still be blogging until we are 71? iRelle, here’s another challenge!
So with iRelle talking about technology I decided I would jump on the bandwagon and do my part for International Technology week and tell you my Most used Gadgets and Applications.
At the top of my Application list would be Tweetie, it’s a client for Mac and iPhone which lets me easily check twitter all day long. It would be my most used App for sure, quickly followed by Adium (MSN Client for Mac) a real world replacement for these two things? Probably a phone, call some one up and say HEEYYYYYY I just Pooped!
Microsoft Word would probably be my next one as I am always writing down little thoughts and ideas, especially my blog posts! Spell Check FTW. But what may sound like a supprise is that I still use a lot of pen and paper. I’m constantly Doodling on something, or writing random thoughts, lines and notes.
Next on the line up would be iMovie, I’ve been doing a bit more video stuff recently and iMovie is a really easy to use program, a lot better than the Windows version. I don’t really think there is much of a real world competitor for this though… Hmmm.
iTunes…. All ways using iTunes, it syncs my phone and it sorts all of my Music into easy to find folders, but some times I cant believe the amount of crap music I have! Real world competitor? CD? Tape? Record Player? Radio… Another tough one!
Wrapping up all the ones I can think of, Photoshop and iPhoto would also be high on my list, fiddling around with photos and trying to see if I can take an average photo and make it something special, some times it will work… other times I fail miserably, I guess there isn’t much of a real world equivilent for this either, other than a Darkroom to develop images..
Although the last thing I should show you all is.. drum roll http://wakoopa.cpom it’s a small little site where you download an application onto your computer and it tracks all of your time, what programs you use the most, new programs you’ve started to use and you get scores for every new program you use. Currently I am a Devotee you can check my profile out at http://wakoppa.com/iDigDan

although, oddly enough, that’s wakoopa.com, not .copm
yeah I spelt it wrong twice.
Once its wakoopa.cpom the other its wakoppa.com
