The Atlantis Code

Posted by on July 12, 2009

At the start of this year I began to read books once again, before 2009 I hadn’t read any books since leaving College where you HAD to read books for subjects and work crap. But I decided why not give it a shot and so far I’ve managed to read 7 books and I am now onto my 8th book, The Atlantis Code by Charles Brokaw.

I’ve only just started reading this book, as in I’m only up to page 50 of 580+ pages and so far the book seems promising, there’s been murder and torture and all guns blazing, as well as intellectual discussion about linguistics’ and a hell of a lot of words that kind of went over my head (Thank god for online dictionaries)

Below is a Synopsis from penguin.co.uk

An ancient artefact is discovered in a dusty antiquities shop in Alexandria, Egypt – the long forgotten trinket soon becomes the centre of the most deadly archaeological hunt in history.

The 20,000 year-old relic is inscribed with what appears to be the long lost language of Atlantis. Only one man would seem to be able to decode its meaning – the world’s foremost linguist, Dr Thomas Lourdes – but only if he can stay alive long enough…

Meanwhile, an earthquake in Cadiz, Spain, uncovers a most unexpected site – one which the Vatican rush to be the first to explore… Perhaps the lost city of Atlantis is finally ready to be found?

But is the world ready for her secrets?”

CLICK HERE to read an extract from the first chapter of the book! Now I’m heading back to my book to read some more. I will most likely post a blog once I’ve finished it!

Happy Camping!
