I’ve owned an iPhone for almost a year now so I thought that it was time that I did a blog post telling you all my favorite top 5 iPhone Applications. There are HUNDREDS of Applications out there for iPhones and iPod Touches and you can pretty much find one for anything you want. But here are my top 5 favorites and some pictures to show them to you because I like having photo filled blogs, I’m just really lazy because inserting pictures means I have to do a lot of format fiddling around which gets annoying because I type all of my blogs up in the back end of the site in a small text box. Yep I’m sophisticated….
App #1: Beejive IM
With the release of iPhone software 3.0 Beejive IM has become even better to use now pushing notification of new IM’s even while the program is closed meaning I can stay connected but still do other things on my iPhone. Beejive lets you connect to several messaging clients so it’s helps me bring all my connections together in one app.

APP # 2: Tweetie

Tweetie is definatly my all time favorite application for the iPhone so now is the time to tell you that this list isn’t in favorited order. The Tweetie app for iPhone is easy to use and offers probably from my experience the quickest and most effective method of Tweeting on the go as well as checking up on all those Tweeties your following. *winks* Tweet me @DigDan

APP #3: Skype
Skype for iPhone is something I wanted for ages and it finally came around a few months ago. The app all round is decent although there are a few issues such as it randomly crashing and ending calls. It would also be better if it allowed calls over 3G instead of just WiFi, considering if I’m in WiFi I’m most likely to use my MBP with webcam anyway. So its probably just in my top 10 due to it being SKYPE

APP #4: Google Earth
The built in GPS in the iPhone 3G is one of my favorite little novelties, its something I dont necessarily use / need but its something that I love having at my finger tips, Some times when I’m out and about with dad or my family and we are doing some 4WDing or something of the sort, I like to compare the accuracy of the iPhones GPS capabilities to Dad’s Garmin GPS. Many times the iPhone kills the Garmin which I find to be funny considering the iPhone isn’t really made for GPS, its just got it there because its nifty.

App #5: The Sims
I admit right here and now that I have always been a fan of the Sims series of games. From the Sims one upto the Sims 3 I’ve had all the games and expansion packs and I don’t think that is likely to change anytime soon. The Sims on iPhone is no where near the level of that on the computer but it is SIMS and SIMS is good. Thats all I feel I need to say about this app because it is THE SIMS!

And there you have it my top 5 favorite applications for the iPhone 3.0 Software, all of these apps will work across the range of iPhones and iTouch’s although the GPS capability of Google earth may not work with the First Gen iPhone and the iPod Touches. So for some good measure I am throwing in my 6th favorite app for anyone else who cant use GPS or something, this Application is Shazam. You know when your out and about and you hear some music and you think… I need to know who sings taht or I need to get a copy of it or I just need to know what its called… Well Shazam is your best friend in these situations, just whip out your iPhone, launch Shazam and hold the microphone to the music for a few short seconds and in no time at all Shazam will have you the name of the song, who sings it, where to find it on youtube and the iTunes store! It truly is god!

I need shazam! :-O
So of course the change of my sites layout has completely fraked up my layout for the blog post! GRWL!
